Why it's easier than you think to get 100,000 views

Marketing doesn't have to be expensive. Here is how you go viral online at no cost, and convert.

First off, I would like to ask a big favour.

If you enjoy reading this newsletter and want to support, it would be a massive help if you could reply to this email - with anything!

It really helps to let yours and others’ inboxes know that these emails aren’t junk.

Thanks a lot 😊🙏

Now let’s get into it.

100,000 views. So what?

What’s the point?

An ego trip?

For some, maybe.

But 100,000 views isn’t just 100,000 views.

It’s also:

  • 1,000 visits to your site

  • 20 newsletter subscribers

  • Or even… $!

How my newsletter boomed when my tweet got 100k views.

And the best part: it’s totally free marketing.

Plus, it’s a lot easier to achieve than most people make out.

It’s not rocket science

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) made it very clear.

Tweets go “viral” when they hold attention.

As Elon put it, the algorithm “tries to optimize time spent on X”.

So, how do you hold attention?

There are 2 very powerful ways:

  1. Get people to reply to your tweet

  2. Get people to read others’ replies on your tweet

If your tweet achieves one of these, it will go viral.

If it achieves both, well… you’re in for a ride 😎

Take this tweet, for example:

Almost 200,000 views and 800 replies in under 24 hours.

In it, I ask if I’m the only person left that still plans using paper and pen.

Of course, I’m not.

And I know that.

But what this tweet succeeds in doing is getting others to reply.

Mostly re-assuring me that I’m not alone (step 1 ✅) .

Second, those who reply want to see what others have to say.

They will sit and scroll through the replies (step 2 ✅).

Also, by making the notes in the attached photo readable, some people will have spent time trying to see what I was writing.

Time spent on my tweet ⬆️ → X pushing the tweet to go viral 📈

Don’t just sit around. Convert!

Now you’ve got everyone’s eyes on you, do something about it.

Plug your newsletter. Plug your blog. Plug your business.

Whatever it is, plug it.

This plug got me almost 20 new subscribers for my newsletter.

Reply to your original post.

It will be seen at the top of the replies, so each time someone clicks to open the replies they will see it.

But, wait a couple of hours before you reply with a link.

If you reply with a link too quickly, you’ll kill the original tweet’s reach.

Now that you know how to go viral, stop waiting around. Go post!

If you’re not sure how to format your tweets, I wrote my formula here. It’s not a golden rule, but it’s good to stick by if you’re lost.
