How you can get more done by working less
The unfortunate truth is, effort doesn't equal output. You need to work smart. Here's how to get more done, by doing less.
Getting “more done” with “less work”.
It’s not a game of maximizing laziness.
It’s a game of maximizing efficiency.
Stop fooling yourself
“Disorganization is often a result of misguided attempts at efficiency”
Take a moment to soak that in.
You see, most people look at maximizing efficiency the wrong way.
Instead of looking at it as a game of “how can I cram in as much into my day as possible”, look at it as a game of strategically maximizing your time and resources to get the most done.
The 80/20 principle
I first heard about the 80/20 principle in “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferriss.

A perspective-shifting book. Worth a read.
The 80/20 principle states:
“Focus on the 20% of activities that generate 80% of your results, and eliminate or outsource the rest”
To do this, you need to sort your daily tasks by:
Priority (based on assumed ouput)
Resource required to complete
Time required to complete
And focus on eliminating or delegating all those tasks besides those that are:
High priority,
low resource requirement,
and low time requirement
Avoid burnout
Burnout is a state of complete mental, physical and emotional exhaustion.
Put yourself there, and you can set yourself back days, or even weeks.

The 12 stages of burnout.
For exactly this reason, it’s so important to check in on yourself regularly.
Feeling overworked?
If you’re your own boss, take a day off.
That’s what I did this week.

I took a day to recharge by visiting Ang Thong National Marine Park, in Thailand.
I could go on about how traveling abroad is one of the best things you can do for your overall wellbeing if you work remotely.
But that’s a whole different can of worms that I’ll open later.
You’ve got this.
