How to 10x your productivity as a software developer
I tried a few new AI tools this week, and there's one in particular that has revolutionized the way I work. You need to know about it.
There’s one word that’s been circling the Internet this week.
And for very good reason.
“Cursor”
What is it?
It’s an AI code editor.
Why should you care?
I’m not one to ride hype trains.
But having used Cursor every day this week, it’s blown me away.

Their tagline is “Built to make you extraordinarily productive”
If you’re like me, you value your time.
So if there’s a tool that will allow me to complete a task in 1 hour instead of 10 hours, I’ll use it.
Cursor is that tool.
Now this might sound like a paid ad, but it’s not.
I started using Cursor last week, having seen the craze online slowly build up.
And while it took a day or two to get used to, now that I have my workflows in place I find myself turning idea into solution in days instead of weeks.
Learn to stay ahead
Whether you like it or not, technology is advancing.
AI is getting better and better every day, and so are the tools that come with it.
If you don’t learn to use these tools, your competitors will.

Forked from VSCode, Cursor looks the same and behaves the same, but with AI built-in.
This is meant as a wake-up call to those who are resistant to keeping up with advancements.
You will be left behind.
Your boss will start to expect more from you.
Your customers will start to expect more from you.
And if you can’t deliver, they’ll move on to someone else who can.
It’s still early days
Cursor has Beta features such as Composer that are still very much in their infancy.
While I’ve given Composer a go, I’m not the biggest fan.
My go-to’s are CTRL+K for in-line edits, and CTRL+L for describing my app’s specification and building a development strategy with AI in tow.
For clients of my MVP agency Liftoff this means two things:
Faster delivery times
Broader product scopes (let the imagination run wild!)
And it’ll mean the same for you, if you’re not afraid to try something new.
You’ve got this!
